A few years ago, it seemed like most DYFS court cases were in DYFS court where they were the Plaintiff. Instead, they are advising the other parent to file an Order to Show Cause to seek custody of the child. In other words, DYFS backs the other parent and provides them with advice. Even worse is that they will write reports and provide them to the court. However, they are not a party to the case and may not even show up to court. This leads to a number of problems.
